ITINERARY:
Day 1: Depart for DelhiDay 2: Delhi - RanthamboreOn
arrival in Delhi we will be met at the visitor's lounge and transferred to
the hotel for wash and change. Later this morning we will transfer to the
railway station to board the train to Sawai Madhopur. Arriving in the
afternoon, we will have time for check in, freshening up and lunch before we
take our first jeep safari into the core area of the park later in the
afternoon.
Day 3: RanthamboreToday we will take
morning and afternoon jeep safaris in the park.
Day 4:
Ranthambore-BharatpurThis morning we will have the opportunity for
a quick jeep safari in the park before boarding the train to Bharatpur in
the afternoon. On arrival in Bharatpur, we will check into the hotel for two
nights. Later in the afternoon, we will go for birding in the sanctuary.
Day
5: BharatpurThis morning we will head to Bund Baretha by surface to
see some more birds like the Indian Skimmer, Great Crested Grebe, Comb Duck,
Orange-headed and Tickell's Thrush, Ruddy-breasted Crake, Greater Painted
Snipe, Dusky Crag Martin and the rarer Crag Martin, Sulpher-bellied Warbler
and some other species. On our way back we will try for Booted and Brooke's
Leaf Warbler, Desert Wheatear and Spanish Sparrow. Later in the afternoon we
will be birding in the sanctuary.
Day 6: Bharatpur - Agra -
BandhavgarhWe will take a final birding trip in the sanctuary
before proceeding to Agra visiting the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri on
the way. On arrival in Agra, we will proceed for a sightseeing tour of the
city including Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. Later in the afternoon, we will
board the overnight train to Umaria.
Day
7: Umaria-BandhavgarhOn arrival at Umaria this morning, we will
transfer by road to our lodge in Bandhavgarh, which has been reserved for
two nights.
Day 8: Bandhavgarh Tiger ReserveWe will
take our morning and afternoon safaris to the core area of Bandhavgarh
National Park.
Day 9: Bandhavgarh - Kanha Tiger ReserveWe
will have the opportunity to take a final safari into the park before we
proceed to Kanha later during the day. On arrival in Kanha, we will check
into our resort for three nights.
Day 10-11: KanhaWe
will go for our morning and afternoon jeep safaris to the core area of the
park.
Day 12: Kanha - DelhiWe will drive to Jabalpur
this morning in time to connect the overnight train to Delhi.
Day
13: DelhiOn arriving at Delhi this morning, we will transfer to the
hotel for an overnight stay. Rest of the day is free for individual
activities. A sightseeing tour of the city or a visit to the Okhla barrage
for bird watching can be organized in the afternoon if you so desire.
Day
13 Darjeeling - KolkataWe will drive from Darjeeling to Bagdogra in
time to connect our flight to Kolkata. On arrival we will be met and
transferred to our hotel for overnight stay.
Day 14: Delhi -
LondonWe will transfer to the airport in time to connect the flight
for our onward destination.
