ITINERARY:
Day 1: Arrive ChennaiWe will be met on arrival and transferred
to our hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2: Chennai - Mysore -
NagarholeWe have an early start this morning, as we will be
transferred to the train station in time to board the train to Mysore. On
arrival in Mysore, we will be met and transferred by road to Nagarhole
National Park (90 kilometres; 2½ hours drive). We will check into the
resort for three nights.
Day 3-4: Nagarhole We will
take the morning and afternoon safaris to the core area of Nagarhole
National Park.
Day 5: Nagarhole - OotyWe will head to
Ooty by road this morning. On arrival, we will check into our hotel for two
nights.
Day 6: OotyWe will drive to the Toda Tribal
villages and trek to the hills this morning. Afternoon is free for
individual activities.
Day 7: Ooty - AnnamalaiWe will
drive through the Cardamom Hills to Annamalai National Park this morning
(110 kilometres; 4-hour drive). On arrival, we will check into the forest
rest house for two nights. A guided walk through the forest is scheduled
later in the afternoon.
Day
8: Annamalai National ParkWe will go for a trek in the morning to
see some of the endangered species of mammals and birds. We will walk around
the rest house in the evening to sight more wildlife.
Day 9:
Annamalai - MunnarThis morning we will drive to Munnar (140
kilometres; 4-5 hours drive). On arrival we will check into our hotel for
two nights. In the afternoon we will trek through the cardamom plantation
and mixed forest in search of the endangered wildlife species in this part.
Day 10: Munnar - Rajamalai National Park - MunnarWe
will drive to Rajamalai National Park early this morning to see the Nilgiri
Tahr (17 kilometres; 45-minute drive). We will return to the hotel in the
afternoon. Rest of the day is free for individual activities.
Day
11: Munnar - PeriyarIn the morning, we will drive to Periyar (113
kilometres; 5-hour drive). On arrival we will check into our hotel for two
nights. We will go on a boat cruise to view the wildlife on Periyar Lake in
the afternoon.
Day 12: PeriyarWe will take the boat
cruise in the morning and afternoon on Periyar Lake.
Day 13:
Periyar - Kochi - Mumbai - Onward destinationWe will transfer by
road to Kochi this morning (208 kilometres; 4-hour drive) in time to board
the flight to Mumbai. On arrival in Mumbai we will be met and transferred to
our hotel for wash and change facilities. Later we will be transferred to
the international airport to connect the flight for onward destination.
Day
13 Darjeeling - KolkataWe will drive from Darjeeling to Bagdogra in
time to connect our flight to Kolkata. On arrival we will be met and
transferred to our hotel for overnight stay.
Day 14: Delhi -
LondonWe will transfer to the airport in time to connect the flight
for our onward destination.
