India (Wildlife Vacation in India)
ITINERARY:
Day 1: Depart for DelhiDay 2: DelhiArrive
Delhi. Met on arrival at the visitor's lounge and transferred to our hotel
for overnight stay.
Day 3: Delhi - JaipurWe will fly
to Jaipur early this morning. On arrival, we will check into our hotel for a
night. Our main search is for the endemic White Naped Tit. Our sighting
should also include Spotted Creeper, Indian Pitta, Lesser and Greater
Flamingo, Great White Pelican, Red Crested Pochard, Crested Greater
Short-toed, Bimaculated, Oriental Skylark, Ashy -crowned Sparrow Lark and
Bushlark as well as White-bellied Minivet. Overnight will be at the hotel.
Day
4: Jaipur - RanthamboreWe will drive to Ranthambore early this
morning stopping at Sonkhaliya enroute look for the Great Indian Bustard,
Indian Courser and Rufous Fronted Prinia. On arrival in Ranthambore, we will
check into our lodge. We will take our first wildlife safari in the park
this afternoon.
Day 5-6: Ranthambore Safaris, in the
wildlife reserve, on both these days will be by an open-topped jeep.

7: Ranthambore - BharatpurWe will have the opportunity to go for a
quick morning safari in the park before we board our train to Bharatpur at
noon. On arrival at Bharatpur, we will be met and transferred to our hotel -
our base for the next two nights.
Day
8: BharatpurWe will spend the morning birding in the Keoladeo Ghana
Bird Sanctuary. Later we will proceed to you will be taken by road to Bund -
Baretha to see the majestic Indian Skimmer. Overnight we will be at our
hotel.
Day 9: Bharatpur - Agra - KumerianWe will head
to Agra at noon visiting Fatehpur Sikri enroute. On arrival in Agra, a
sightseeing of Taj Mahal and Agra Fort is scheduled for this afternoon. We
will board our overnight train to Lalkuan later in the evening.
Day
10: Lalkuan-Kumerian On arrival we will check into the resort for
two nights. Morning we will proceed for full day birding in Kumerian in the
Kosi riverbed and the nearby streams looking for Speckled Piculet,
Streak-throated Woodpecker, Himalayan Flameback, Oriental Pied Hornbill,
Tawny Fishing Owl, Brown Hawk Owl, Pallas's Fish Eagle, Mountain Hawk Eagle,
Orange-Bellied Leafbird, Red-Billed Blue Magpie, Grey Treepie, Grey-winged
Blackbird and more. Evening at leisure. Overnight at the resort

11: KumerianWe will spend the day birding looking for smaller and
more species like the Rufous-Gorgeted Flycatcher, Snowy-Browed Flycatcher,
Slaty Blue Flycatcher, Little Forktail, Grey-breasted Prinia, Tickell's Leaf
Warbler, Golden-Spectacled Warbler, White-crested Laughingthrush,
Blue-Winged Minla, and Green-Tailed Sunbird. Some of the very special birds
to look for in this area are Brown Dipper, Slaty-backed Forktail and
Black-throated Sunbird. , Evening at leisure. Overnight at the resort
Day
12: Kumeria-CorbettWe will drive to Dhikala inside Corbett Tiger
Reserve this morning On arrival check in to the Dhikala Forest Resthouse for
two nights; situated in the heart of the National Park. Dhikala situated on
the bank of River Ramganga in the Patli Dun valley is home to herds of
Elephants, Spotted Deer and Hog Deer, Tiger, Leopard, Jungle Cat, Wild Boar,
Rhesus Macaque, Hanuman Langur, Golden Jackal, Sambar, Indian Muntjac, Grey
Mongoose and Small Indian Civet. Sightings of Marsh crocodile and the
attractive Fish-eating Crocodile are almost guaranteed.
Day
13: CorbettWe will take our morning and evening safaris to the core
area of the Corbett Tiger Reserve.
Day 14: Corbett-DelhiWe
will drive to Kathgodam later in the day to board our overnight train to
Delhi.
Day 15: Delhi-Onward DestinationArriving in
Delhi early in the morning, we will transfer to our hotel to freshen up and
relax. We have the entire day at our disposal for an optional sightseeing
tour of Old and / or New Delhi. We can alternatively go for a birding around
the River Yamuna. Later in the evening we will transfer to the airport to
connect our flight to onward destination.
